Still trying to get caught up on TRs from last year.  In November Brian, Dillon, and I loaded up into the Jeep and made our way down to the Sangres with a less-than-stellar weather forecast looming over our heads. I’ve been trying to plan a trip to climb 13er Isolation Peak (13,118) in the southern region of Rocky Mountain National Park for a couple years now. After trying to make an overnighter out of it, I decided to consolidate the logistics and just do it in a long day. I had a Saturday morning to kill with zero obligations and little interest in hanging around the house. Looking at the various options available to a Denverite weekend warrior, I decided on a day hike of Keller Mountain in the Gore Range. This loop is a great way to experience the Northern Sangre de Cristos without getting yourself in to too much trouble as you would on peaks like the Crestones or Little Bear.
